We spent this day in Illuka. After breakfast the guests were showing around and after that the project event started at 11 in the school hall.
Aimar Laulik, the advisor of foreign contact in the Illuka community, greeted our partners and reminded how the partnership started and how it has been developed through years.
Then our presentations started. The Illuka girls introduced the epic Kalevipoeg and showed the connections between the both Finnish and Estonian epics. They also told about the legends told by local people of Illuka.
Then we presented the video made by our elder students which shows some fragments of the epic Kalevipoeg. Unfortunately the video is too big for loading up here!
The Taivalkoski team presented an animated poem from Kalevala - fragments and images can be seen in the previous post. They also had made a video Morder Mystery which introduced their schoolhouse where the "murder" had been followed and caught. That was an enjoyable presentation!
Painting the shoes or T-shirts with spray colours.
Music workshop:
Singing Estonian songs which go back to the awakening period of Estonian people.
Dances and games.
The busy and active day continued with the sportive afternoon.
Now it seemed to be enough, everyone was tired. So we decided to have a nice peacuful evening. We are meeting again tomorrow morning and following the footprints of Kalevipoeg in South Estonia!
